Last Wednesday two Newton-Conover seniors signed their national letter of intent to play softball at the next level.

N-C soccer advances to 2A western final

The Newton-Conover men's soccer team defeated South Point 3-0 at Gurley Stadium on Saturday in the fourth-round of the NCHSAA Class 2A West playoffs.

The Red Devils will now host Patton on Tuesday and the winner advances to the Class 2A state championship next Saturday.

Shelby football ends Newton-Conover's season

SHELBY -- The Newton-Conover football team's season came to a close with a 9-3 record thanks to a Shelby 49-20 victory on Friday in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2AA West playoffs.
