Polio survivors view documentary of ‘Miracle’

Polio has been eradicated in the United States so it’s almost become a forgotten disease – except for those who succumbed to the disease before the vaccine was developed.

An average of over 35,000 cases were reported during the late 1940s and early 1950s, according to the CDC. Polio was one of the most dreaded childhood diseases of the 20th century in the United States.
