WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Two Winston-Salem men have been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping in connection with the death of another man.

Media outlets report police arrested 26-year-old Tishuan Juawn Weaks and 25-year-old Earl Vargas Jr. on Monday. Winston-Salem police say Weaks and Vargus kidnapped and killed 23-year-old Jaquan Manchezor Rodman last month.

Officers searched for Rodman on Nov. 17 after they received a report that Rodman had been kidnapped. A driver traveling north on U.S. 52 noticed a man lying beside the road. When police investigated, they found that it was Rodman and that he had been shot at least once.

Weaks and Vargas are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 7.
