LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) — An inmate who escaped from a facility in Lumberton has been caught in nearby Pembroke.

Prison spokesman Keith Acree said in a statement that 40-year-old Jamie Parrish was discovered missing shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday from a Robeson County center for inmates who have violated probation, parole or post-release supervision.

Acree says Parrish was found in a store in Pembroke shortly after 7 a.m. Friday.

Parrish was serving a 90-day sentence for violating his post-release supervision. He had been scheduled to be transferred Friday to Wayne County to face charges of larceny, possession of stolen goods, driving while impaired and other driving offenses.
