The Hickory Metro Sports Commission capped off another successful DICK’S Sporting Goods Classic holiday basketball tournament on Wednesday with their annual luncheon held at the Hickory Metro Convention Center.

All eight participating schools from the 30th Annual DICK’S Sporting Goods Classic were presented with checks based off the proceeds from the event, which was held at Catawba Valley Community College’s Tarlton Complex.

The participating schools included Alexander Central, Bunker Hill, Fred T. Foard, Hickory, Maiden, Newton-Conover, St. Stephens and South Caldwell.

The first check — totaling $3,015.05 — was based off the tournament’s gate, while a second check of $500 was given to each school from the Hickory Metro Sports Commission to offset each school’s tournament expenses.
