The No. 6 seed and defending Catawba County Easter Baseball Classic champions, Hickory High School baseball team defeated No. 2 seed Bunker Hill with a 6-0 victory Tuesday at Henkel-Alley Field.

The No. 2 seeded Bunker Hill baseball team edged No. 7 seed St. Stephens 4-2 in Monday's opener of the 2018 Catawba County Easter Baseball Classic at Henkel-Allen Field.

The Bears (7-3) will face No. 6 seed Hickory (7-5) 4 p.m. Tuesday in the winner's bracket of the tournament.

Foard's Bailey signs for soccer with Lees-McRae

Foard senior Corby Bailey signed her National Letter of Intent Friday to play Division II soccer for Lees-McRae University in Banner Elk, N.C.

Foard football falls to Mt. Pleasant in playoffs

The Mount Pleasant Tigers ended the Fred T. Foard football team's season in the second round of the NCHSAA Class 2AA playoffs with a 28-14 home victory on Friday.

The Tigers from Newton finished the season with a 9-4 record.

Foard's Rice signs with Red Hawks for volleyball

Fred T. Foard senior Jayln Rice signed her national letter of intent to play volleyball at CVCC on Wednesday.
