Hickory native Will Simms competes on SURVIVOR

Graduating as an Indian from St. Stephens High School, Will Simms knows something about being a part of a tribe.

Now, the Hickory native is trying to outwit, outplay and outlast 17 other contestants on the 30th season of the CBS show SURVIVOR for a chance to claim the $1 million prize.

Simms was shocked when he found out he was chosen for the show.

Bunker Hill at Wilkes Central, postponed to 5 p.m. Friday
Maiden at North Wilkes, postponed to 5 p.m. Friday
Shelby at Bandys, postponed to 5 p.m. Friday

Nine of Catawba County’s prep boys and girls basketball teams can echo that sentiment.

Having not played in nearly two weeks, area prep basketball teams are remaining calm through the storms and preparing for the moment they finally compete.
