PREP SOCCER: Red Devils blank Mustangs

Behind a goal each from Douglas Palma and Aldayr “Hyper” Ozuna, the Newton-Conover boys soccer team shut out East Lincoln, 2-0, on Wednesday in Denver.

The Red Devils, who are ranked No. 2 in the latest 2A boys soccer poll, improve to 14-1 overall and 8-0 in conference matches this season.

N-C defeats Maiden in three sets to tie standings

Left with a bitter taste in their mouths from a 3-2 loss Sept. 4 against Maiden, the Newton-Conover volleyball team enacted some revenge on Tuesday night.

The Lady Red Devils never skipped a beat en route to a three-set victory against the Lady Blue Devils.
