Girl’s third-place game: Newton-Conover 50, Fred T. Foard 48, FINAL
Lanecia Williams makes a lay up with four seconds left to lift the Lady Red Devils to the third-place finish. Foard led 27-18 at halftime, but Newton-Conover rallies with solid third quarter to pull within one, 38-37, after three.

Indians lead 13-12 after the first quarter with a balanced scoring effort. Ten of Foard's 12 points are from Jordan Turner in the opening stanza.
St. Stephens takes a 33-28 lead into halftime. Logan Starkey paces Saint with nine points, while Kerigan Farley added eight points. Foard is paced by Jordan Turner's 13 points. Daniel Tomberlin chipped in eight points.
Tigers pull ahead 53-43 behind seven points from Spencer Matthews in the third quarter. Jacob Schmidt also hits a last second 3-pointer in the quarter.
A 3-pointer by Jacob Schmidt with 34.6 seconds left gave Foard a lead it did not relinquish. The Tigers won 66-63 to claim the third-place finish in the 26th Annual Catawba Valley Classic.

A 15-0 run puts the Lady Red Tornadoes ahead of the Lady Cougars 24-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Hickory scores 19 in a row before a free throw from Alexander Central's Kelsie Rhyne at 4:52 breaks the long run.
Farrah Young hits a leaner as time expires in the first half to give Hickory a 39-25 lead at the break.
Hickory leads 63-34 after three quarters. Yazmen Hannah with 17 points to lead Hickory. Danasia Witherspoon just behind with 15 points. Marie Ritchie paces Alexander Central with a double-double — 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Hickory leads 28-25 at halftime behind 12 first half points from Zach Jarrett. Gavin Huffman and C.J. Wardrick chipped in five points each.
Tyoun Shuford leads N-C with six points, while Alex Johnson and Joshuwell McCombs each added five points.

Despite being down entering the fourth quarter, Hickory outscores Newton-Conover 23-11 in the final quarter to come away with its 17th Classic title.
Zach Jarrett led Hickory in the title-winning victory, scoring 21 points. C.J. Wardrick added 19 points, including 12 points in the fourth quarter. Tyoun Shuford paced N-C with 14 points.
