A tradition at Bandys High School wasn’t forgotten on Jake Ziegler and Ray Pierce as their school parking spaces were painted on Monday, Oct. 29. The school came together to show respect Monday, with groups of students who painted the school spirit rock remembrance to both seniors. Groups of students also painted the best friends’ parking spaces, located right next to one another.
“The tradition is to paint the parking space of a student who passed away,” Bandys High School Principal Timothy Woody said. “The spaces will remain painted and empty the rest of the school year in remembrance of the students.”
For the past week and a half there has been a crisis intervention team with several resources for students. Woody said Monday morning he made an announcement that students who need to speak to someone or need time for grieving were welcome to go to the media center where the team was set up for counseling or other resources. Banners were also set up Monday for students to sign and leave kind words for the two students.
