Lenoir-Rhyne's Michael Green has been named the South Atlantic Conference defensive player of the week, league officials announced on Monday.
Green wins the honor for the second-straight week.
Green, a junior defensive back from Kingsland, Ga., finished with six tackles including two fumble recoveries in L-R's 34-6 win over Brevard last Saturday in Brevard.
Green's second fumble recovery occurred in Lenoir-Rhyne territory on Brevard's opening drive of the second half.
Green also helped the Bears limit the Tornadoes to 219 yards of total offense in the victory.
In addition, Green averaged 27.6 yards on three punt returns including a 30-yarder in the fourth quarter which set up Lenoir-Rhyne's second field goal of the game.
Green, a 2011 All-SAC honoree as both a punt returner and defensive back and an all-region selection, is currently tied for third on the team in tackles with 27 to go along with two interceptions this season for Lenoir-Rhyne.
Wingate's Chris Bowden and Cory McNulty were named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive and Special Teams Players Of The Week, respectively.
Lenoir-Rhyne (3-2, 1-1) faces conference-foe Tusculum (2-4, 1-1) in its annual Homecoming game on Saturday starting at 2 p.m., at Moretz Stadium.
