Seven of the 10 Catawba County teams in action in the 2A and 3A baseball and softball playoffs have advanced past the first round.
Bandys 11, West Davidson 1 (five innings)
Behind a three-run homer by first baseman Scarlett Harris, the Lady Trojans advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a convincing home win Friday.
Tiffani Holland also drove in two RBIs in the game, going 3-for-3 from the plate. Lady Trojans' Amber Peters, Bre Jones, Regan Smith and Kathleen Reardon also drove in one RBI each in the victory.
St. Stephens 7, South Point 1
The Lady Indians pounded out 10 hits including two each from Taylor Lail and Katie Baker, leading them to the second round of the playoffs.
Darian Fisher led Saint with two RBIs, while Jodi Kerley also drove in a Lady Indians run.
Baker tossed seven innings, striking out eight batters, walking one and allowing two hits and one earned run.

Behind a 16-strikeout performance from junior pitcher Hunter Harvey, the Trojans move on to the second round of the 2A baseball playoffs.
Harvey allowed two hits and no runs in his complete seven-inning performance on the mound. He also went 3-for-3 from the plate with a walk.
Holden Pender led the Trojans offensively with a 1-for-3 outing at the plate, including two RBIs. Dylan Shook went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Bunker Hill 5, Brevard 3
The Bears came back from trailing 3-0 to score five runs and advance past Brevard on Friday.
Bunker Hill had a four-run fourth inning and also plated a security run in the seventh.
Jordan Eckard, Jason Setzer and Oliver Reitzell led the Bears offensively with three hits each.
Bunker Hill's Colton Chapman earned the victory on the mound.
