"I attended my first Camp Meeting in 1929," said Jimmie Gantt, 87, as he sat down on the back porch of his neighbors "tent."
The "tents" that campers refer to are cabin-like structures connected in rows throughout the Balls Creek Campground.
"Everyone has their own tent and they decorate it and paint it however they please," said Marian Abernathy, a camper who attends Camp Meeting every year.
Most people have their tents passed down to them from family members but they're also open for purchase when a tent is available.
"We paid around $1,000 for our tent in the 50's," Gantt said. "Now, tents cost anywhere from $40,000 to $50,000."
