In collaboration with its production of “Welcome to Mitford,” The Green Room Community Theatre announced that Robert Inman, the playwright, will be present at each performance of the show. Inman will sell and autograph his books in the gallery of the Old Post Office Playhouse before each production. Take this opportunity to meet Inman, bring a copy of one of his books and have it signed by the author himself, or purchase one from him.
Robert “Bob” Inman is well-known in the area as a long-time anchorman for WBTV News in Charlotte. He now resides in Catawba County. He is a native of Elba, Ala., where he began his writing career in junior high school with his hometown weekly newspaper. He left a 31-year career in journalism in June 1996 to devote full time to creative writing.
Inman authored seven works for the stage, all published by Dramatic Publishing: “Crossroads,” “Dairy Queen Days,” “The Christmas Bus” (musical and non-musical versions), “Welcome to Mitford,” “A High Country Christmas” and “The Drama Club.” He is the author of four critically acclaimed novels: “Home Fires Burning,” “Old Dogs and Children,” “Dairy Queen Days” and “Captain Saturday”; a non-fiction collection: “Coming Home: Life, Love and All Things Southern” and an illustrated book version of “The Christmas Bus.” He has written screenplays for six motion pictures for television, two of which have been “Hallmark Hall of Fame” presentations.
