False Breaking and Entering call leads to Arrest in Almost Three Year Old B and E Case

An alleged home break-in call has led to the arrest of a Maiden man in connection with an incident that occurred in June of 2012.

Deputies and detectives responded to the call at 3440 Walker Road after the caller said there was a possible break-in in progress and the Communications Center reported hearing a gun shot.

Cat. Co. Citizens charged with car theft

Wednesday morning, two Catawba County citizens were arrested for possession of a stolen motor-vehicle.

Megan Nicole Miller, 32, of Conover, was arrested by the Conover Police Department for possession of a stolen motor-vehicle and failure to return a hired motor vehicle.

Claremont man misses 14 court appearances

Benjamin Charles Lagunas, 35, of Hunawill Street in Claremont was arrested Tuesday by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office for missing multiple court appearances.

Man accused of raping child relative

A Lincolnton man was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s office for allegedly raping a relative under the age of 16, Sheriff Coy Reid said.

Clayton Houston Hoyle, 39, of Grandview Lane in Lincolnton was arrested on Friday.

Conover man charged with kidnap, assault

April 22, 2015

A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing and holding his girlfriend against her will on Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Catawba County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that Jonathan Leslie Blackburn, 48, had assaulted his 28-year-old girlfriend at his residence on Buddy Street in Conover, Sheriff Coy Reid said.

N-CHS names new principal
