Traffic was slowed Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m. when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and W 7th Street in Newton. The accident  involved a Jeep with five occupants and a Jaguar passenger car with one occupant. The Jeep was turning West on 7th Street and the Jaguar was traveling South on Northwest Boulevard. Officials said all six people involved in the accident were transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. A small boy was one of the passengers in the Jeep, but was restrained and safe in his car seat. N.C. Highway Patrol helped to direct traffic while Newton Police investigated the accident.
