February 17, 2011

Both directions of a Catawba County highway are closed Thursday after a car crash.

North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said a truck crashed into power lines near the 2500 block of U.S. 321 Business about 2:45 p.m. Thursday.

A portion of U.S. 321 Business was closed in both directions. North Carolina Department of Transporation crews set up detours for motorists.

Motorists heading north on U.S. 321 Business are asked to turn right on Prison Camp Road, left on St. James Church Road, left on Smyre Farm Road and right on U.S. 321 Business.

Motorists heading south on U.S. 321 Business should reverse the directions.

Commercial drivers heading north on U.S. 321 Business should turn right onto Mays Chapel Road which becomes St. James Church Road, follow to the caution light and turn left onto Smyre Farm Road. Then, they will  turn right onto US 321 Business.

Commercial drivers heading south on U.S. 321 Business should reverse the directions.
