Catawba native Bobby Lutz is a finalist for the head men's basketball coaching job at College of Charleston, according to multiple sources.

Lutz, a former UNC Charlotte head basketball coach and current N.C. State associate head basketball coach, interviewed for the Cougar's coaching vacancy on Saturday.

Along with Clemson assistant basketball coach Earl Grant, Lutz is one of two top finalists for the position.

Either Grant or Lutz are expected to be hired as the new Cougar coach on Sunday, and an official announcement by College of Charleston on its hiring is expected to be announced on either Monday or Tuesday.

According to sources, Grant is leading man for the position.

The Cougars have searched for a new men's basketball coach since Aug. 6 when former head coach Doug Wojcik was fired. Antonio Reynolds Dean has served as interim men's basketball coach at College of Charleston since then.
