Witnesses: Man fires at house, then shoots himself

Newton Police, along with fire and EMS, responded to a call around 5:30 Friday afternoon where shots were fired at a house on Ervin Avenue.

According to neighbors who witnessed the incident, an SUV pulled up in front of the house, where a man was standing in the front yard. The driver of the SUV jumped out and chased the man back inside the house. The driver attempted to force his way inside the residence, but was unsuccessful.
