For the second-straight week, the Bunker Hill football team will be without a key member of its coaching staff.

John Mackey, defensive coordinator for the Bears the past four seasons, became ill last Wednesday afternoon.

While the Bunker Hill players and coaching staff miss a beloved friend, they are all motivated by his absence to win each and every game the rest of the season for him.

To read more of this story and for comments from Bunker Hill coaches and players, pick up the Wednesday edition of Catawba County's community newspaper, The Observer News Enterprise, at newsstands throughout the county.
