A rear-end collision occurred just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and 7th Street in Newton. A pick-up truck struck a passenger car from behind.

The driver of the passenger car was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The rainy conditions did factor into the accident.
