Weiss sentenced

Following a three-day trial, Anthony Parks Weiss, 33, of Sherrills Ford, was convicted of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon in Catawba County Criminal Superior Court.

Weiss was sentenced to no less than 73 months and no more than 97 months in the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections. He was arrested in connection with a September 2011 incident in the Sherrills Ford area of Catawba County.

Michael Hicks of the Catawba County Sheriff’s Department handled the investigation, and Assistant District Attorney Sean McGinnis prosecuted the case. Jude Timothy S. Kincaide presided over the trial.
