John W. Bass Jr., 42, of Newton, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.  The Bass family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Helen Dorothy Lamkin Hosfeld, 72, of Highland Bluff Court, Lincolnton, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.  Burke Mortuary in Maiden is serving the Hosfeld Family.
