W. Harold Blackburn, 84, of Newton, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley.  The Blackburn family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Blane Bert “Tex” Burchett died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center.  The Burchett family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.

Susie Frances Whitener, 87, of  Abernethy Laurels, Newton, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at Catawba Valley Medical Center of Hickory.  The Whitener family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.

Michael Anthony Learning, 51, of Hickory, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at his residence.
Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton is handling arrangements.

Manubhai Lalubhai Patel, 87, of Lincolnton, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2011 at CMC-Lincoln.  E. F. Drum Funeral Home is serving the Patel family.
