Nadene Arndt Bumgarner, 87, of Catawba passed away Tuesday, Feb.  5, 2013 at Abernathy Laurels in Newton.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Bumgarner family.

LCDR William R. Sechler, Jr., 74, of Matthews, passed away Jan. 31, 2013.  The McEwen Funeral Home of Charlotte, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, N.C., is assisting the family.  Ashes will be scattered at sea per request.

George Howard Rhinehardt, 73, of Newton died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at Brian Center East in Hickory. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Hugene Rufty, age 68, of Catawba died on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.  Arrangements are incomplete.
