Brenda Gail Williams Lail, 57, of Conover, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley. A celebration of life and worship service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Tri City Baptist Church.

Jeffery Lee “Yogi” Alexander, 53, of Hickory, passed away Feb. 14, 2011, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.  The Alexander family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Hickory.

Mary Eva Withers Sipe, 83, of Newton, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.  Burke Mortuary in Maiden is serving the Sipe family.  

Mr. Thomas Reid “Pawtuck” Hubbard, 86, of Conover, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.  The Hubbard family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Conover.

Norman Thomas Baker, of Lincoln Nursing Center, formerly of High Shoals, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011.  A memorial service will be held later in Amity, Ohio.

Timothy Wayne Schism, 49, of Lincolnton, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln in Lincolnton.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Pastor Joe Staley officiating.

Martha Jean Buff Helms, 70, of Maiden, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden.
