John Shayle Edwards, 75, of Claremont, a Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, died at home Monday, July 30, 2012 after a long period of declining health.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Edwards family.

Sylvia Ann Hawn, of Vestavia Hills, Ala., formerly of Newton, passed away July 15, 2012, at the age of 73.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church or your chosen charity.
