Veterinary hospital marks 25 years

After working for other veterinary offices in Lincoln County, Donald Whitener decided to open his own practice. Conover Veterinary Hospital opened in 1988 with Whitener and one assistant receptionist.

Twenty five years later Whitener employs 14 full- and part-time employees and has gone through three renovations to grow his business.

Whitener said when he decided to open his own practice 25 years ago there wasn't a veterinarian in Conover.
