Helen Little Hollar, born Jan. 30, 1924, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. She was 87 years old.  The Hollar family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home and Cremations in Conover.

Randy Scott Frye, 55, of Newton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 1-1:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton prior to the service.

Shirley Greene Johnson, 65, of Vale, went to her heavenly home unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.  The Johnson family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.

Gladys Louise Hedrick Sigmon, 89, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley.  The Sigmon family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Conover.

Judy Ann Gates Howell Potts, 48, of Claremont, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Potts family.

Douglas Eugene Burrus, 89, of Newton, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Pallative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba County.  The Burrus family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Dorothy Hammond, 86, of Newton, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Calvin "Joey" Robison Jr., 36, of Newton, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Hazel Louise Reed Scott, 82, of Newton, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.  
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. 

Violet Eudora Canipe Moore, 82, of Maiden, passed away Feb. 5, 2011, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.  Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Maiden.
