Barbara Jean Brongo, 64, of Newton, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  The Brongo family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Alfred “Al” McKinney, 67, of Hickory, passed away April 10, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.  The McKinney family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Hickory.

Benjamin “Benny” Troy Sims Sr., 47, of Conover, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Sims family.

James Robert Yates, 47, of Conover, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Yates family.

George Lewis Ledford, 78, of Conover, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at his residence.  The funeral service was held Monday, April 11, 2011, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial followed at Conover Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by American Legion Post 16.
