Paul Morgan Walker, 80, died Wednesday morning, May 9, 2012, at Hospice of the Catawba Valley, after several months of declining health.  The Walker family entrusted the arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Lindsay Jackson Stafford, 84, of Conover, died after many years of declining health on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Stafford family.

Joshua Lee Self, 21, of Claremont, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory after a long battle with MD.  Memorials may be made to Burke Mortuary in Newton in care of the family.

Brian DeCalb Taylor, 43, of Country Lane in Stanley, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Lincolnton.  A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home.

James N. Sherrill, 86, of Hickory, died May 9, 2012, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
