Tate, Barrymore aim to add N-C's 4th doubles title

John Tate and Tyler Barrymore will try to give Newton-Conover High School its fourth-straight doubles tennis title when they compete this Friday and Saturday in Cary at the 2A Individual Tennis State Championships.

Two years ago, N-C’s Will Huggins and Hang Lak Choi came away with a 2A doubles tennis titles.

Choi and Ryan Lampe were victorious the year after, helping the Red Devils repeat their doubles success in 2011.

Last season, Lampe teamed with Tate to claim the school’s third-straight 2A doubles crown.
