Looking for something to do this week, then head on down to the lake.
The city of Newton Recreation Department will be holding their 10th annual Take a Kid Fishing Day at Herman’s Fish Lake from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The event is open to children from 3- to 17-years-old, though an adult must accompany those younger than 12 years. Children who want to participate must bring their own rod and reel.

Program Coordinator Charles James talks about the program starting through his previous bosses and a sponsorship through Walmart.
