Students give back

From left, Lindsay Lansdawne, Shelby Lail Kneeling, Erin Kelley and Elaina Ramseur-Luckey show off the 917 non-perishable food items South Newton Elementary School collected. The students are student council representatives for the fifth grade. Terry Drum’s fifth grade class collected the most items with 430 cans and won a pizza party. The food will be delivered to Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministries (ECCCM) over the holiday break.
