State surveying teachers on working conditions

March 26, 2012

North Carolina's public school leaders want to know how to make teachers happy and how to improve learning environments across the state.

The state Department of Public Instruction is asking teachers to take a survey on their working conditions beginning Monday through April 20. Teachers can access the survey online at http://www.ncteachingconditions.org/.

State school board chairman Bill Harrison said North Carolina was the first state in the country to conduct a statewide survey of educators 10 years ago. Harrison said data from past surveys shows that positive working conditions improve student learning and teacher retention.

Teacher surveys have found that educators believe their biggest needs are time during the work day for planning lessons, adequate facilities and enough resources.

The 2010 teacher working conditions survey got a response rate of nearly 90 percent.

...just like a Commie, you want to call or label anyone who disagrees with your Big Government solutions to everything "sick"!

No I am not sick, Iam sick and tired of spending my tax money on frivlities and letting the school systems deteriorate to a point where the school is just barely managed chaos!

iam also distressed byt he disappearance of all the cats in downtown Newton and other things that seem to be swept under the rug of a more heinous nature and most of all.... I am sick of you!

Other than that I fell pretty good!

Looking at all your posts. backbone, you are a "sick" individual. I hope and assume, your local police department has taged you as "a person of concern." Hope you get some mental help. Does your military and probation supervisors know of your problems?? Should I let them know you need help? I know how and can do that for you.

Sounds reasonable!

Might want to look into the behavioarl issues int he middle and high schools. if the teachers feel safe and reasonably free from crime they will consider themselves better off!

In other words identify the little miscreants and get them out of the schools. Guess what< NOT EVERYONE WAS MENT TO GRADAUTE!

OH AND WHY WE ARE AT IT, OUTLAW HOODIES!
