Starkey leaving Lady Bears, Pate to succeed him

Todd Starkey is leaving the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s basketball program to take an assistant coaching position at Indiana University, as first reported by The Observer News Enterprise on Saturday.

Starkey accepted a position Thursday on the staff of first-year Indiana head coach Teri Moren, who was hired by the Hoosiers on Aug.9.

According to sources, replacing Starkey is former LR assistant coach Katie Pate, who spent last season at Georgia State University.
