About five St. Stephens High School students were allegedly involved in an attempted armed robbery Wednesday.
Hickory Police are investigating an incident, where a 17-year-old victim said he was forced into a silver Volkswagon Jetta, pistol whipped and later drug from the vehicle. The victim said the incident started at a house on 37th Avenue Northeast on Wednesday.
The victim to Hickory Police that when he was able to be released from the vehicle, he got into another car and attempted to follow the Jetta.
The victim said he lost sight of the car near Ace Hardware and Dante's Pizza on North Center Street. Police say that is when he called 9-1-1.
The victim said he knew the suspects â€” two females and three males â€” from St. Stephens High School.
Police arrested Kyon Montreal Huffman, 18, early Thursday morning at his residence on Section House Road in Conover. Huffman, also known as "K Money," is charged with accessory after the fact and was taken to Catawba County jail with a $1,500 bond.
Huffman was not listed as being in jail Friday.
Hickory Police said some juveniles were involved in the incident, as well as several witnesses who all have different sides to the investigation.
Police suspect the incident is drug-related.
In other crime
A 32-year-old woman told police she was assaulted with a knife after a suspect became upset at her for not selling him drugs or giving him money.
The victim was at her home in the 1100 block of Second Street Place Southeast in Hickory when she opened the door to her porch at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. She told Hickory Police that as she opened the door, she saw a white male walking toward her.
The victim said the suspect asked her for drugs and money. When the woman said she "didn't know what he was talking about," the victim said the man then pushed her to the ground, kicked her and took a silver knife and stabbed her.
According to a police report, the woman had a 3-inch laceration to the back of her head and was transported to Frye Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The victim said the suspect then left in a silver car.
This was not the first encounter the victim had with the man. She told Hickory Police he was at her home Tuesday night asking to buy drugs.
The woman told police she was sitting outside with friends Tuesday when the man approached, and they informed him that no drugs were sold from the residence.
