Soldiers Reunion pageants deadline extended

Registration has  been extended to July 29 for contestants in the five Miss Reunion beauty pageants—the forerunner of  Catawba County’s major patriotic festival in Newton.

The Miss Reunion title will be bestowed on area girls and young women during the series of three evenings of competition which precede the August Reunion Week activities in the Newton.

The pageants are set for the evenings of Tuesday, Aug. 6, when Tiny Miss Reunion will be selected; Wednesday, Aug. 7, when both Little Miss Reunion and Junior Miss Reunion will be chosen; and Thursday, Aug. 8 when Teen Miss Reunion and Miss Reunion will be crowned.
