Thousands braved the heat and flooded the streets of Newton on Thursday for the 125th Soldiers Reunion.

Crowds of all ages enjoyed munching on treats like funnel cakes and cotton candy while enjoying the musical entertainment and visiting booths set up around the square.

"We are seeing a larger turnout this year,” said organizer Wayne Dellinger. “It has a lot to do with it being special — the 125th year of the Reunion. But people also really like the music we are having, The Fantasic Shakers and Confederate Railroad. People just love the Old Soldiers Reunion."
