Fred T. Foard advanced to the second round of the 3A soccer playoffs with a 2-1 double overtime victory against East Henderson on Wednesday.
Wyatt Shely scored the winning goal for Foard (16-7-1).
Kenan Ruffner also netted a goal and made an assist for the Tigers, while Logan Winstead assisted on Ruffner's goal.
The Tigers travel to Ashbrook (18-2-1) on Saturday for a second round playoff game.
St. Stephens 3, West Henderson 0
The Indians advanced to round two with a shutout on the road Wednesday against the Falcons.
Nich Bryant, Ivan Aguilera-Zavala and Andrew Bare scored goals for Saint (13-6-2), while Tommy Vo and Luke Bruce made assists.
St. Stephens' second round match up is against Freedom (16-5-1) on Saturday.
Newton-Conover 1, Owen 0
Franklin Wepner's goal on assist from Kevin Thorpe proved to be the difference maker, helping the Red Devils pull the upset and advance against the Warhorses (19-2).
Newton-Conover (13-6-1) travels to Smoky Mountain (7-5-3) in the second round of the playoffs on Saturday.
Brevard 1, Bunker Hill 0
The Bears' season ended Wednesday with a shut out to Blue Devils (11-4-1).
Bunker Hill finishes the season 10-9-1 overall.
