Sisters to open Newton bakery

Lately, people have been asking sisters Judy Early and Teresa Blalock, “Which one is ‘Marie’ and which one is ‘Twannette?’”

Their response: it’s neither.

The sisters’ Marie & Twannette’s bakery is a simple play on words, really, one that is as sweet as their already famous “cake cups” and other specialty goodies.

Area residents will be seeing a lot more of “Marie” and “Twannette” when the bakers move out of their home kitchens and into downtown Newton later this summer.

The projected opening date for Marie & Twannette’s bakery is scheduled for Old Soldier’s Reunion week in mid-August.
