Sipe’s Orchard gets gift

Sipe's Orchard Home recently received a special Christmas gift from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.

The $22,000 gift made possible the purchase of two Honda Odyssey vans for the Houston Transitional Living Center program.

The vans will make daily life at the cottage much easier.

Not only does this cut down on travel expenses, it cuts down on the amount of time that staff and residents are away from the home, Houston Program Supervisor, Jackie Brown said. It also increases their bonding time as there are many issues discussed to and from various places.

These vans are a blessing and we are grateful to the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation and Honda Cars of Hickory for such fantastic gifts.
