SALISBURY, Md. — Scoring 12 runs in the first three innings, the Delmarva Shorebirds hammered the Hickory Crawdads, 15-3, on Monday.

The first two batters in the Delmarva batting order — center fielder Glynn Davis and second baseman Jerome Pena — combined for seven of the Shorebirds' 13 RBIs in Monday's contest.

Delmarva third baseman Jason Esposito and catcher Wynston Sawyer added two RBIS each for the Shorebirds (8-16 in the second half, 36-57 overall), while designated hitter Michael Ohlman and right fielder Brenden Webb drove in one RBI each.

Left fielder Trever Adams led Hickory (15-10 in the second half, 51-43 overall) with two RBIs on a 1-for-3 hitting performance at the plate. Designated hitter Zach Cone added an RBI in the loss.

Hickory and Delmarva play the fourth and final game of the series Tuesday in Maryland. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.

After taking a day off Wednesday, the Crawdads return to the diamond Thursday, starting a four-game home series with the Lakewood BlueClaws.
