Shop local - and WIN! O-N-E announces $100 winner

November 25, 2011

Conover-resident Judy Baxter is this week's winner of $100 in The Observer News Enterprise's Hometown Christmas program.

Baxter registered to win at Newton-area business Midway Carpet, one of 70 area businesses supporting The O-N-E's holiday "shop-local" campaign. Her entry was drawn from among hundreds of others just before 8 a.m. during the Wacky Wake-up Crew on WNNC and WAIZ.

"Now Judy Baxter has $100 to spend at any of our 70 Hometown Christmas participants," said O-N-E Publisher Michael Willard. "Plus, she and all the other people who have dropped entries in our Hometown Christmas gift boxes are entered to win a holiday shopping spree worth more than $2,000."

The shopping spree will be awarded Dec. 16, just in time for Christmas. The only way to enter to win is by visiting the locally owned and operated businesses participating in The O-N-E's Hometown Christmas program, Willard said. These businesses join The O-N-E in encouraging area residents to support the local economy of the Hickory Metro by completing holiday shopping in this area.

To find out which businesses support The O-N-E's shop local campaign, see the pages of The O-N-E and Outlook. Look for the advertisements with the Hometown Christmas logo.
