Share your ideas at Newton community meetings

NEWTON, N.C.–The city of Newton is kicking off the new year with a series of community meetings to explain and gather input about exciting projects that will shape the city for years to come.

Each of the five meetings will be from 7-8 p.m. Meeting dates and locations are:

» Monday, Jan. 25, at Grace Reformed United Church of Christ, 117 East J St.
» Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Abernethy Laurels, 102 Leonard Ave.
» Thursday, Jan. 28, at Central Recreation Center, 301 South Ervin Ave.
» Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Startown Elementary School, 4119 Startown Road.
» Thursday, Feb. 4, at North Newton Elementary School, 221 West 26th St.

Newton Mayor Anne P. Stedman and city leaders will facilitate the meetings. Discussion topics include streetscape, funding sources, asset management, strategic property purchases, expansion of water and sewer service, development of Danner Industrial Park and more.

All Newton citizens are invited to learn about what’s going on in Newton and to share their ideas about city projects.
