SEVERE WEATHER: Maiden schools dismiss early

Two maiden schools will dismiss early Tuesday following severe weather overnight.
Maiden High and Maiden Middle schools will both dismiss at 11 a.m., according to Catawba County Schools. Power outages at the schools were cited for the early dismissal.
Monday night's severe weather caused storm damage throughout the Maiden and Sherrills Ford communities of southeastern Catawba County. Work crews are working to clear roadways and restore power in the area.
