Several arrested with start of ‘Operation Top 40’

LINCOLNTON — Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators processed a number of suspects during the initial push Wednesday in “Operation Top 40”, a roundup of alleged street level drug dealers in Lincoln and surrounding counties.

Teams of deputies were assigned a list of individuals from each of the three county districts identified in true bills of indictment handed down by the Lincoln County Grand Jury. The officers are targeted 40 offenders, including some repeat offenders, on approximately 152 felony drug charges.
