Scoring 11 runs in the first three innings, the Hickory Crawdads pulled out and stayed ahead of the Kannapolis Intimidators on Thursday for the 13-9 road victory.

Alejandro Selen led Hickory (6-2 in the second half, 42-35 overall) with four RBIs, including a two-run homer in the third inning.

Trever Adams, Jordan Akins and Nick Urbanus added two RBIs each for the Crawdads.

Hickory starting pitcher Jordan Eickhoff improved to 9-4 on the season, striking out three Kannapolis batters, while allowing eight hits, four runs (all earned) and one walk in his five innings on the mound.

The Crawdads start a five-game road tilt against the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Friday before returning home to L.P. Frans Stadium for the Fourth of July.
