Seeking a marker for Drumsville

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries it wasn't uncommon for towns and communities in Catawba county to slowly disappear into oblivion or meld into larger surrounding cities.

County lines were often changed, crops sometimes didn't grow causing the economy to fail, and families moved away.

One such place was the thriving business community of Drumsville, which rose and fell between 1780 and 1936. Located just northwest of the Anderson Mountain area, the community today has a Maiden Zip code.
