Searches continue for missing teens

October 17, 2012

Searches continue for missing Bandys High School seniors Jake Ziegler and Ray Pierce, who told friends they were headed to Myrtle Beach, S.C. early Saturday morning.

Ziegler, 17, and Pierce, 18, were last heard from at 2:44 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. Catawba County Sheriff’s Officer, Capt. Joel Fish said the last known contact was a ping from a cell phone tower on I-77 near exit 48 in Rock Hill, S.C. Fish said the Sheriff’s Office is working to talk to friends and classmates of the boys at Bandys High School to find out other information.

“We have been contacting other law enforcement agencies, and the families have contacted others to help with the search,” Fish said.

Myrtle Beach Police, Horry County Police, S.C. Highway Patrol and the S.C. SLED team have all been contacted and are looking for the 2006 Green Pontiac G6 the boys were traveling in. The parents of the boys traveled to Myrtle Beach and spoke with officers there, but all law enforcement are saying there is no evidence to place the boys anywhere in Horry County.

According to social media Facebook page, “Help find Jake Ziegler and Ray Pierce,” family members are in Fairfield County, S.C. with volunteers to help search for the boys.
